I have a question about the Nikki carb.
Is it better to modify a Nikki or buy a 48mm Weber?

And to stay on topic here are some pics of a Nikki rebuilt?

Fblive if your talking about mine I cut down my own rifle rounds with a brass pipe cutting tool. Im known for doing it and I figured I might as well on this project. Some screws arent the ones that will stay so I havent covered those yet. And with work I have found these carbs can push some power for little money compared to a completely different situp.

Hahaha, I pretty sure that's the Sterlingcarb I built for Stu from a NOS carb he bought on ebay. I didn't want to mod it cause it looked like it should have been in a museum. Custom build to look totally stock. And externally it does except for one thing.

Alright, I'll play your game.
Everything looks like it's in the right place and just a standard rebuild. So what you've done is most likely hidden.
My guess is that you modified the spring in the diaphragm to have the secondaries open up faster.

Oh there's a LOT of hidden internal mods on that carb. IIRC that is setup for mechanical secondaries, but don't quote me.

Jaimie how'd you do the finishes on your Nikki? And how are they holding up? How does the carb perform?

That thing is beyond beautiful, thanks for the inspirational pictures.

Anybody have a pic of the venturis. Really want to see how your supposed to trim the tube itself (down to the little hole. I did 1 out of four as the directions said and i think i already regret it. Or how a sterling carb one looked. It just looks like it would cause so much turbulence that i dont see how it would work.
