Nikki pics request

I would like to see peoples nikki carb projects. I think seeing pics of all the ways these carbs can be done would influence others to stay with them and rework, paint, polish, strip etc for future projects. Ive been putting mine together and by the time im done ill have 40 hours into it and already wanting to go another route. So hopefully ill have a pic of it completed by the end of the day.

Pics would help people go through with the rebuilds. I did mine in a very short period of time and am considering a swap anyways.

If you're newer to the board look up Sterling and Yaw carbs on Google. They did amazing work but they are both retired as far as I know.

I know of sterling, yaw, cobra and so in but I want to see the ideas others have came up with. How clean a carb can look or custom one can be. There is 50 good threads of 1 random idea but id like to see every carb in one thread filled with pics. What someone can do as a backyard project or with a mill.

Here are some pics of my freshly painted, modded, stripped nikki. It was a learning experience. Hopefully tomorrow ace hardware will have the 7 screws I need.

I suppose

I'll take a few pics of my carb work and post it here if I have time tonight. Currently have 2 extra carbs for recreation and my working carb on my 12a now for 3 total.

Yes; dupli-color metalcast clearcoat over buffed and brushed bare metal. Stands up to fuel & heat great, though it is a bit easy to scratch.

I spent a little over a year reverse engineering and rebuilding my own Yaw/Sterling style carb. Not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Here is what I ended up with.

-Removed all emissions, choke, fast idle linkage
-Removed OMP tubes
-Mechanical secondaries
-Thinned throttle shafts
-Double gasketed accel pump diaphragm
-Full holley air bleed kit to allow tunability
-Removed unused linkages from throttle shaft
-Increased the diameter of both the primary and secondary venturis
-Trimmed and polished the booster venturis
-Plugged all extra ports and holes with set screws/jbweld
-Smoothed out the air horn
-Used button head cap screws with Red locktite to hold in the throttle butterflies
-Modified the accelerator pump nozzle and banjo bolt by opening up all holes to a larger size
-Rx-3 floats
-Grose jets

They were new old stock. Some guy on the forum was selling carb junk in the classifieds section and mentioned that the had a couple sets of grose jets. I was lucky enough to buy the last one he had. Think I paid $30 for them. I haven't been able to find anyone else that sells them. They are one of the few rare parts that I actually own.

If anyone needs help reverse engineering their own carb, let me know. I am happy to provide any details that I can. I had a heck of a time figuring some of this stuff out, so I'll try and share my knowledge where possible.

I've squirreled away sufficient carb parts, I think, to tackle building a stripped performance Nikki. Now all I need is the motivation, which can be hard to come by knowing that I'd just have to pull it off again in a year to smog the car, then put it all back.

Grrrr.

If my carb was that pretty, I'd be afraid to put it on the car.
