nikki jetting

What size jets are good to start tuning with for a nikki on a rb sized streetported 12a? I ported the manifold a little too. I just don't want it running too lean.

go up two sizes on the primaries as a start. nothing else. see how it does. it would be nice if you had a wideband... or did this on a dyno w/ wideband readings.

Well I have a edelbrock air/fuel meter and a G tech
You think the secondaries jets are will work, What do you think I should set the fuel pressure at 3?

Leave the secs alone for now. Nikkis tend to run rich up top from the factory. I'd up the primaries like Zac said and go from there. Without changeable airbleeds you'll be limited to what you can do. You might find after the primaries are good that you can then up the secs. Nah run pressure around 2.5 psi.

If you're running a return, then 3 or 3.5 psi is fine. Factory specs call for 4.25 for the later years, 3.75 (I think) for the earlier years, with the difference being the return line orifice diameter.

Your stock secondary jets are 1.6 mm, or .063 inch, and your stock primary jets are .92 or .93 mm, or .036 inch.
The sec jets are PLENTY big enough for the venturi diameter, but the primary jets are a bit conservative.
We send the Sterlings out with the stock .063 inch secondary fuel jets, even though the venturi diameter is larger. The primaries are jetted with between 053 and .058 jets, or .043 for those requesting conservative jetting.

You have a SPed 12a and you're trying to get hi per from a 313 cfm carb.
If you send it to us, along with money ( ), we can make it flow 465 cfm with practically no loss of signal to the main fuel circuit at low end.
-An "oh so shameless" plug, I know.

But, I used to have .057 for primaries and .063 for secondaries in my sterling carb and my SP 12A engine ran just fine... oh wait that's what you said. My bad, the old custom of flaming wars kicking in for a moment.

Hey Dennis

Where you at now, Carlos?
Were you able to find a place to live hamoniously with others who also came out of the closet late in life?
