nikki/emissions question

So I'm taking my carb off here soon and I want to do a carb strip because I have a header for my car along with a bonez race pipe. I was thinking if I strip the carb and put the exhaust on, would I be able to keep the rats nest and just delete the air pump? Or would it be doing nothing and just take the nest off?

By definition, stripping the carb includes removing the rats nest.

the carb, doesn't have a lot to do with the air pump or rats nest.

the air pump, goes to the Air Control Valve, which is controlled by 2 solenoids on the solenoid rack, and except for the Throttle Position Sensor on the carb, has nothing to do with the carb.
