Best water pump and kudos

I tried to post in the section covering the good and bad that I had a great experience with Black Dragon. The forum section would not allow me to post. Anyway, I am going to change the water pump on an 84 GSL-SE. It will be a daily driver with few mods. There are many water pumps to choose from and I was wondering if there are any to avoid and or recommend. Thanks in advance.

Agreed on the original equipment, can't go wrong there.

But if you want to save some cash and go for the coolness factor (no pun intended, I mean "cool" as in looks cool) you may want to consider a GMB 145-1180.

It has an aluminum casing instead of the stock cast iron, looks great polished up and you can get one for $25 shipped off ebay.

Even if it's only half as good as the stock unit, it still should last another decade or two:

thanks folks

I have the 84 GSL-SE stored at a friend's house and am making my list of upgrades for the next couple of months. I am pretty excited. Okay, you got me thinking about how long the OE one lasted on my 86 and I am going that way. thanks for the advice.
