Nikki carb rebuild
Looking to have my 1985 nikki carb rebuilt with emissions elimination. Anyone know of a reputable rebuild service? There is a seller on Ebay that wants 400.00 for the rebuild, but I don't think they know much about the Nikki carb or how to rebuild it with emissions elimination in mind. Thanks Lee

Another way you could go is to buy a good used carb that hasn't been hacked up, and use that as a basis to try it yourself.
Once broken down into the basic parts you can go through it and figure it out. Actual rebuild kit and misc hardware amounts to maybe $50. There are probably a few good guides on the forums.
For $400 you would be able to buy a good working Sterling Nikki carb!!
Also a 'rats nest delete' as it is called I (do not think) requires carb modifications. I think that is more related to the solenoids.. vacuum line delete, etc. As a whole, the emissions system is air pump, cats, intake manifold... And from what I have read, a rats nest delete doesn't really have a lot of positive benefits other than a cleaner engine bay look and maybe less sources of vacuum leaks once you finally get the delete figured out and working!

I just did my carb, waiting on the rebuild kit still. But it's a fairly simple carb to work on if you're comfortable with taking it off and opening it up. (and I've never rebuilt these carbs, plenty of smaller carbs though) But I'm blocking off the emissions stuff with almost no difficulty, there are some great write-ups on here and members have posted plenty of their tricks throughout the years.....
One thing I was sure of was to make the mods reversible, just in case lol
