Nikki carb airflow piping ideas.

Any ideas on how to get more air flow into the carb. Not turbo or any kind of forced air. But a way to get more air to flow straight into the carb I've thought of a few ways but I would have move the over flow or put a decent sized hole near the thing that holds the radiator. Any ideas? I have seen people's set ups but find no threads for this. If I figure a good way I will try to make a write up for that.

most people would move the overflow and just run a tube to the front, in fact Re-Speed used to sell a radiator side panel with a 3" pipe in it.

actually both the competition and the GSL-SE get air this way, so its not exactly an innovation.

the competition setup, moves the battery, which lets you move the radiator over and this lets you run a 4.5" duct straight in. the cars with the dave kent front end, have a cassette shape, and the big side of the cassette is for the engine air intake.

thats what i'm saying I didn't know that so I was curious about what would be a good idea? and if I can't find anything about it I would just make a picture book to show the hole I would have just cut.

I bought PVC and flex couplings and almost did it. I think it would've looked better than that one. Then it dawned on me that it was adding, more stuff for negligible return. And I bagged the idea. I'm not looking for hundredths or tenths. I really like the simplicity of my engine bay.
For 5 or more horsepower at 30 mph, maybe. But it just ain't there.

well I had a few things on my mind for it but im not sure cause I feel like outside air should hit the intake instead of the hot engine air only you know but from what it looks like there it could work.

im not look for power out of the intake just hopefully cooler air to drop a few degrees.

cause once im done fixing things up and finishing off the tune up process. im going to fix all the suspension cause it looks like it hasn't been changed in 30 years, there is so much clanking going on right now it isn't funny so yeah xD this car needs more TLC then an Engine rebuild lol runs perfect shifts perfect. just gets a little to hot for my tastes even though Idaho temps never really pass 98 degrees but we all know its rotary gots that high flame buring through their souls and mine you know?

brap brap is my goal for someday.

Ye Olde Dryer-Vent Hose Cold-Aire Intake Dodge; total cost, $15. Most of it for the flange pop rivetted to the hole sawn into the rad support:

the stock intake isn't that bad, it doesn't really suck hot air, it could be cooler, but you won't notice any difference

One way to do a fresh air intake, like other have toughed on, is with a GSL-SE passenger side radiator support. It already has a hole. One complement to this would be to use the GSL-SE radiator overflow bottle and mount. I was going to do this on my first rebuild but have since used the space for something else.

ok those pictures we very helpful to me. but riddle me this why is it at night I seem to run like 40 degrees hotter then in the day time and I drive the same day or night?

I see my temp guage shoot up past half at night but during the day it doesn't touch half ways?

i'm going to go about at some point if I can ever make time in my 6 day work weeks to remove my rats nest and get my manifold changed out but always something to keep me busy. -_-

im actually all good with the stock air intake I would just like to extended it out so air is flowing from more then the exhaust manifold the engine bay itself.
