Newbie, hello (long)

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself, and tell my story. If you think this is lame, feel free to click back

I am the proud owner of a Charcoal Gray, '84 Rx-7 GSL-SE, 13b 6-port 5spd, 149k miles, Racing Beat lowering springs, Tokico HP's in the back, stock struts up front (don't ask), free flowing cat, and free flow exhaust makes it sound like a buzz saw, which makes me happy. The cleanest burgandy (bleh) interior I have ever seen on a car built when Reagan was in office. Power steering, windows, mirrors, and brakes, moon-roof, A/C, tinted windows all around. The car also has a Racing Beat drop in filter, replacing the stock crap. The owner has had it sence '92, and most of the time it's been in Dallas Tx. He is a pilot for Fed-Ex so he has a car at each hub, to drive when he is in that town. There is not ONE speck of rust on the entire car, and I went over it with the "buying a used car" comb. All lights work, including the pop-ups, which I am going to find a way to convert that miata dual light conversion to the Rx. There is a slight problem with the motor. At 5000rpm, after it's reached opperating temp it doesn't go higher in rpm. It feels like it has a rev limiter kicking in. The owner informed me of the problem, which I verified. Feels like a bad fuel pump, or clogged line, OH DARN, looks like fuel cell/areoquip system :-( shucks! On to the exterior.... becides that bit of oxydation of the moon-roof cover, it has, count them.... NO door dings, NO chips in the paint and NO signs of body damage. The magnet test was performed, and the car passed with FLYING colors. It IS the orignal paint, and it stil has the factory black pin striping up the sides. The metal cover on the moon-roof has oxidized paint, and the crack in the windshield. I found a windshield for $110 installed, so that's not a problem. it. The leater seats are not ripped and in great shape. The final price of the car was to be $1700. I wanted to pay less, but for the condition of this car, I can't beat it for the GSL-SE. Because I am a po-***-***** the owner is makng me a deal. The car has been on sale for over 3 months now, and on the net the entire time. He has had one other bite from someone, but they found another when the owner was on a "tour". Which means I had some serious bargening chips with the guy. We made a deal, that I was going to buy the car, but make payments, as I got the money. I am going to take a 8mb memory card worth the pics of it, so you can see it. It's fugging BEAUTIFUL, and it's MINE :-) I took my GF (the aproving factor) for a ride in her last night, and she liked the car. She commented on how smooth it was at idle (it's rough for a wankel, needs motor mounts) and how the power felt like it was constant, not like my neon's power band. The only complaints about the car from her were... "the interior looks like groos" and "the suspension is bouncy" well the latter was because she was sick as a dog, and wanting to puke the whole time. I took it for a juant up the freeway, going down a couple of my favorite on ramps. It's amazing how this car corners for mostly stock suspension. It has a tad of oversteer (due to the shocks in the back vs. front struts) but it is a BLAST. I found a local rotary specialist that is helping me in every way he can. He is like what I want my shop to be like. Where anybody can come in and get honest opnions, and unbias information. He doesn't blow sunshine, and if there is a better product then what he offers, he will tell me where to get it. GREAT SHOP! I am amazed you read this far, and thank you. Now, to figure out the IMPORTANT things in life.... RB triangle stut tower brace, or the on sale Cusco adjustable for $158, or a set of sway bars, or......<fades off into silence>

That's putting it nicely...I'm glad to hear of another soul who has a lady friend/wiffey unable to endure spirited driving. At first, I thought it was me and then I thought it was her. Now I know...

Congratulations, but for Christ sake learn to write in paragraphs lol.

Well that's no good at all.... very unusual behavior for a rotary, it should rev forever. Rotaries don't make much power before 5 grand rpm. Get that fixed ASAP!!

Actually my GF loves it when I crank the koni's on full stiff in the IT prepped neon, and make some fun runs in the hills. It's just she was sick as hell, and wanted to throw up. She went with me because, "it is important to my boy friend, so I will endure" Damn I love this woman...

I am not going to list the shop, because I don't what it to seem that I am going for brownie points, or free plugs, while stepping on people's toes. (saving the flame wars) the shop is in the Seattle area. If you want to know all info, please feel free to e-mail me rich@corprin.com
