oil is leaking near the mazda logo, it isn't too bad. I know this is a common problem on high milage rotary's. BUT i can i fix it, without rebuilding the whole engine???

is it on the logo next to the firewall or up by the fan? If so this is a common problem.

Can you say street port??

If the oil is seeping out between the side plates (cast iorn) and the rotor housings (aluminium) you will need to tear the motor down to replace the rubber o-rings that seal up the oil passage that is right there.

Double check again, clean the engine with some degreaser, start her up and watch for oil.

If it is the o-ring, you will need to replace or rebuild the motor.

You absolutely positive its coming from where the mazda is written on the motor, if it in fact is then you will have to rebuild it to gain access to the o rings

i leak oil between the front plate and the housing, doesnt really matter, just make sure u top it up with oil and it doesnt get low, ud rather it didnt leak, but the engine could still be fine for years

yeah but if its leaking now, if you rebuild now your likely to get good housings, rotors, and maybe reuseable apex's Wait and you will need all kinds of stuff if a seal decides to exit right
