Thanks guys! I have about 2-3 hours a day and this is the 6th day. I should be putting in a solid 4-5 hours in tomorrow to button up the details and get the gains set on the amps. Oh, then I have to figure out how I'm going to trim this out.

You wouldn't by chance offer your services, would you? If one of us wanted a custom made box like that? Not saying I'd want one that extravagant but maybe something that can fit into the storage bins. Just thought I'd ask.

I had a set of storage bin box's that I sold 2-3 years ago.

I did do a enclosure for a 8" sub that fit the space of one storage bin, all you did was take yours out and slide it in. If my friend Sean can take pics of it (it's in his car in Jersey), I could show you. The only problem is that once this system is in, I'm not doing any test fitting in my car. So mass producing boxes will not happen unless I get someone to come over and I could make detailed drawings so I could reproduce something. All my boxes so far have been one off's so I need a car to do them.

Anything is possible, but with winter on the way it's going to be damn cold in that garage!

And, you live all the way up there in CT. And, you probably have snow right now. And, my tires are....well, they're really low on tread. And, that's a lot of gas. Crap, cause I was thinking of a single storage bin enclosure. Need the other bin for the relocated battery when that happens.

Well, did some work today.
I wanted to add some sort of flair to the box and this is what I came up with:

Its actual size as I took out one of the rotors I have laying around and did a little tracing.

Box carpeted (Yes it was a pain in the ***!)

Got it installed:

Well it sounds real nice, just need to do some adjusting!

Now the hard past of trimming it out.

Just finished doing some trim work, it's nothing special but it looks good.

I would love to trim it out like my first system but it is very complicated and I will have to think of some supports for the cover.

Here is a pic of the amps with the neon on. It's hard to tell since the flash was coming on.

Let me know your input! I would like to know what you think and if you see anything I could add or change.

John

You did a great job with that set up! I especially like the rotor design on the box. Next time you redesign your box you should see what it looks like painted instead of carpeted. I think I would look even better painted to match you body color. But you did do a great job making that box.

Great job
Chris

I never thought I'd say this in a good way but.... WOW, that's a huge box!!!! The install looks great! I don't remember seeing what mids and highs you were using though. Care to enlighten us? Great work and the rotor is a very nice touch. I take it that was fairly thin carpet?

Zach

P.S. I just PM'd you about something.

Thanks guys. I'm not running anything special for speakers:
Alpine SPS 130A 51/4 Speakers (front) 1 set in kick panels, 1 set in fiberglass door pods
Alpine SPS 170A 61/2 Speakers (rear)

My next update will be the speakers as I have beat the **** out of them!

Oh, the box size came out to around 2.8 cuft after speaker displacement.
I'm doing some research on porting it (even louder)

Wow, man, that is some outstanding work. I am jealous. You did a great job with the rotor design, too. Very clean!

Looks Great! You should do a small video to show it lit up at night without the flash.

Also, what did you use for the "Grommet" on the amp rack. Where the wires go through, they look like very clean circles. What did you use?

Freak, they are called snap bushings. I picked up a few packs of each size a couple years back from Partsexpress, but they don't seem to carry them anymore.

You basicly just drill a hole for them and they pop in making a real nice opening.

Here's the one he made me, fits a 8" and slides right in instead of the plastic storage bin. Nice 8 too, hits hard as hell. I can get some pics of it out of the car if you want.
BTW, great work John (on both boxes) can't wait to see it in person.

Well, he said he doesn't have the dimensions anymore and would need a car for him to find out the specs, I believe.
