New seats?

The seats in my 7 are kinda shitty, i was wondering if anyone new where i could get some decent replacements. THey dont need to be from a nother 7 or anything, but i wouild like something along the same lines. I was told at sports car shop that most aftermarket seats will not fit.

they will fit, you just have to have the seat slider custom made....sucks bit hey what are you going to do....lol
anyway you should find some good condition 3rd gen seats and just put the fb seat rails on the 3rd gen seats, its that simple so im told....that or second gen seats, thats what i want to do....there so comfortable and i like the way they hold my *** in place...lol

Not quite. You have to use the right driverside rail from your 1st gen seat. Not that big of a deal, except both rails will no longer lock as they do on second gens which would probably help in an accident. TII seats are comfortable though, and do hold rather well. Good luck.

im putting probe seats in my 7... all u have to do is cut the rear brackets weld a new piece of metal to the rail closer to the front then drill through the brackets in the car on one side... its snug but it fits and its nice

Wow, incredible writeup on those RX8 seats......many props.!

I installed a set of '03 Mitsu Evo Recaro's in my '85. Like the guys said you need to have custom brackets made. In my case, we actually used the exisisting stock sliders/rails and welded them to the frame of the Recaros.

go rx-8 seats if you can find them...you could order them new from the parts department at pretty well any mazda dealership...the only thing is it would cost you a pretty penny...but theres nothing more sexy than black and red leather rx-8 seats

Most aftermarket seats will fit

Best measurements are 22 inches wide at the most and no more than 35 inches high. The RX8 seats will probably be hitting the ceiling and be a major bitch if you're tall.

Yeah, the Mazdaspeed seats are practically bolt in. I use a Type-F as a track day seat.

seats

I have an 85 gsl and i put in a set of aftermarket bucket seats that i found for about $170.00 for the pair. I got a peice of extra metal i had laying around and fab up some new brakets it took me about to 30min per seat. Its not realy that bad when u see the old seat brakets.

From everything Ive read you just bend the mount flat on the rear mount to fit a FB. If I had a choice it would be Infini(sp) seats, Corsica LTZ seats(yeah mot what you think), RX8, Evo 4-6, Sparco torino. But hey thats just me.
