Hey everyone, been reading here for a month or so until I get time to work on my new project, and this looks like a great forum!

I got an '83 GSL last summer for free, but didn't have time to work on it all year cause of school, but hopefully it'll be up and running this summer.

I'm adding some pictures too (it's filthy, needs a wash).

The first owner was EXTREMELY meticulous with maintenance, but then my uncle got a hold of it, and didn't really take care of it at all, hence all the body damage. Still, it's a free car.

Things I know it needs:
-Flywheel (teeth broken, starter won't always engage)
-Battery / Alternator (battery's dead, there's a drain somewhere)
-switches for windows / passenger window regulator
-exhaust leak
-lots of steering wheel play
-lots of TLC and deep cleaning

On the plus side, when I can get it started, it runs GREAT. Smokes at startup, clears up after a few minutes, idles perfectly at 7-800 rpm, shifts decent, new tires / brakes, everything important works as it should.

Now, I was wondering how difficult the flywheel would be to change for the amateur mechanic. I've changed a clutch before, and that was a bit tough, but I just wanted people's opinions. I could always take it to a pro, but that's $800 vs. just $50 for the part.

Also, on the local classifieds, I've seen 12a RB headers for $60. I was wondering if there's any point in getting those if I just left the rest of the exhaust system stock (may need to pass emissions). Also, this car will be a DD / commuter, so I don't want it TOO loud on the freeway.
