"new RX-7"

just another punk kid showing off his sweet ride:

1979 ?Limited?

I've had this for about six months and I can't determine whether it is a limited or not.

5-Speed Manual
Sunroof
A/C
Remote Hatch
no California emissions
'beat black'
alloy rims

cc.usu.edu/~jmcquivey

Here are some slow-loading pics.
Not much to look at, but she's my baby.

*can't beat my price, though.

purchase price: free
battery cable: $5
distributor (junk-yard pull): $10
carburetor rebuild kit: $30
NGK spark plugs: $35

She purrs like a little kitten at 1000 rpm.

Not bad for sitting for 18 years in a scrap yard.
(in the desert sun)!!

upcoming:
tires
paint job (same color)

I would appreciate any info on helping me determine whether or not this is a limited.

yeah, that makes me laugh too. The tires on the alloy rims are cracked clear to nothing. I'm surprised that two of them have held air for this long. We pulled the other two off of another junked 7 at the yard.

Lsd was not availible until the 81 GSLs. Check the FAQs, I don't remember if it specs the differnces or not.

Clues:
-color looks right (tho pretty beat to be sure)
-pin stripe is correct
-INTERIOR:
-should have a kind of Gray & steel-blue (lightish color) 2-tone cloth interior on seats and door panels.
-leather steering wheel and shift **** (look _really_ close for stitching and threads)
-stock radio should have 4- round adjustment ***** and 4 speakers in the car.
-Instrument panel: CLOCK SHOULD BE DIGITAL DISPLAY - that is your first, best clue.
Let us know!
Well bought if the engine runs well

The clock's analog, and the interior was all the red/brown color. the stock radio wasn't there.

oh well... I'm still happy with it for sure.

The VIN tag doesn't have anything but the serial on it.

We did notice that where some of the paint has been chipped off, there is a silver coat. We didn't see anything underneath that, but shouldn't there at least be some primer or something? This is kind of bothering me.

The one on the left side of the firewall doesn't have additional data below the VIN?

It has a four-digit number at the very bottom, but the VIN is the only thing stamped into it. Everything else is the black print.

the color code on my 80 LS is on the VIN plate on the firewall...

maybe its just early SA's that the color code is on the hood decal....not too sure. i can look on one of my hoods in the shop, as it came from a 79 and see if there's a color code on it. to be honest i've never looked.
