New Rebuild 12a Startup Clacking

Hey Guys,
Just installed a new rebuilt 12a and this is what the first start up sounded like.

It has a RB header and installed new exedy clutch kit.

Exhaust leak? All bolts at tightened at the header.
Clutch kit issue?
Bearing issue?

Thoughts?

Thanks, Matt

Sounds like a exhaust leak, but the video ended before you gave it some gas to raise the rpm to hear if the noise changed

Thanks for the response. The iron were mixed, so one has has the egr hole and the other doesnt. Maybe it was once the front housing vs rear or visa versa, so now the gasket doesn't cover it completely?

I may need to get this gasket 81-85: http://mazdatrix.com/pictures/exhaust/manifoldD.jpg

Instead of this 79: http://mazdatrix.com/pictures/exhaust/manifoldA.jpg

Id assume otherwise the RB head should cover the EGR holes.

Ill have to look and see where the EGR hole is in the morning.

I pulled up the rebuild photos. the EGR hole is on the rear rotor. Im not sure the 81-85 gasket would cover it completely. Thoughts?

You might want to look at this thread.

You do have two different models of rotor housings. The rear appears to have a square, the front has the H.
