New possible gsl-se. let me know what you guys think..PICS TOO!!

i already have a perfectly good GS(WITH A LOT OF RUST, BUMMER) but i found this. The only dings are a couple on the back, not too bad. No rust, YES but there is 180,000 miles!! I never got to meet the actual owner to find out if the motor was rebuilt. It idled, ummmm not very well. It was really jumpy and the speedo no worky. It seemed to run well though and clutch felt perfect. Wow the 13b is a big jump from 12a(stock at least) I would not pay 1100 for this car, i was thinking like 800, what do you think? I want to swap in my interior and some other stuff here and there cause it has a faded red interior(ugly, in my opinion) oh yeah get this, THERE ARE HOLES DRILLED IN THE REAR WHEELS WELLS WITH BOLTS STICKING INWARD WITH NUTS ON THEM. is this normal? I have about a thousand in the bank so i could buy the car and sell mine after some swapping for a llittle more money. It would be my daily driver i am only 18 with no job yet!!!!

looks kinda rough, the bolts in the rear wheel wells are probably a cheapo rust fix. but if you can get it for 6-700 i'd buy it.

yeah, do you think that sounds good for around 700? This guy knows his stuff but doesnt do his own engine work. Oil is dripping from and a little around the drain plug. If its not a major leak like in the block or somethin it's not bad because mine leaks to.(rear main seal) Im going down tom. to look at it more with a friend who has an se just like this with a streetport.........................

Not too bad if you can get it for 500 that would be a pretty good car to work with deffinatly check for rust in the bin area and in the wheel wells.

I dunno, it's a GSLSE which is a bit harder to find than other models.

I would say it's worth the 1100 since there were people wanting to pay $800 for mine when I thought it was dead and needed to be towed away. However, I'd say $800 would be a good price for it myself.

I paid only 700 for mine 2 weeks ago. 105,000 miles very clean interior and decent outside. All that was wrong was a bad leading igniter, so I swap the leading and trailing igniters, then drove it away here are some pics...about a half a page down https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/fmic-almost-done-421516/page2/

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone and say that is a really rough -se. There are plenty of them out there and 1k is way too much to drop on one that has major problems. Offer him a couple hundred and see if he takes it. You dont' want ot buy something that will just cause problems down the road.

$1000 and nothing less?

Give him your number, tell him you'll bring him cash. Money talks... (you know the rest).

$1000 would be fair if the metal behind the storage bins was perfect. Remove the storage bins and check. I'll bet $1000 that there is a major problem there!

No rust i could see, but there are some holes drilled through the wheel wells with light shining through along with some giant bolts with nuts on them. Whoever buys the car, is going to have a few surprises if they dont know first gens fairly well. It seemed to run decent............oh yeah, do all gsl-se's have a really stiff clutch pedal, it seems like it or maybe its just an upgraded clutch....god bless
