new owner of a FB questions (Cause im stupid)

i just picked up a 82 mazda RX-7 fopr cheap, and its in great condition.

i have a few questions though.

#1) the fuse box: what type of fuse box came in that year of REX. was it the glas fuses or the bus fuses???

#2)the vacume system: the vacum controll thingmabobber (Sorry, i am more int he know how of the engine it self, none of that emisions BS) but wahts upw itht hat, Rob at pineapple said that there is somehting wrong with it, how its creating vacum to earlie or something like that. how can i test it to see if its getting power, and make sure it working?

#3) why cant i pass emissions testings: the car ahs a brand new catlytic converter.and the car passed DEQ a few years back, and really hasnt been ran or messed with since then. what else could be the problem, the air fuel ratio is set to perfect(According to Rob at pineapple) and the cat is fairley new, the engine runs great, but i still cant pass. any ideas???

the slightest vacuum problem can cause all kinds of problems with these cars. I would suggest investigatiing the vacuum problem first before anything else.

Sounds like this Rob should be the one to fix this problem, since he apparently knows what's wrong.

I'd like to add that the Haynes manuals are almost always available on eBay for 5-10 dollars + shipping.
My compliments to the other posters on this thread for their thoughtful advice. -Mike
