I'm getting old, see and I don't like real bright primary colors where in my book they don't belong. The day is coming when you won't be able to get a decent new or salvaged original for many parts on our cars. I know for a fact that I got the last of many parts period from Mazda parts warehouses that had already been there for awhile and were not replenished in 1995. Each to his own. And like I said, nice job.

The older I get the more I like things OE or at least how they would or might have actually done it. Like my calipers are light silver (not red or blue). My rearend is black and silver. My drum covers are cast iron grey. Boring, huh ? My engine irons are red, but I've always wished they were black. It bothers me how much red and blue I have in the engine bay, but since the firewall and bay is white (like the car) I rationalize that it's kinda patriotic.

No offense intended.

I'm with David on this one. Your execution for your plan was good, but its not something I would do at all.

If I were to paint that section in my car it would either go back to the silver stock color, or go black. in contrast to the red interior. I would have to add more black accents if I went back though.

Now you are gonna have to do your steering wheel to match, and dont forget the dash vents.

As long as its just nicely painted center I usually dont mind, but when you go overboard with bright paint it looks tacky.

Did you find rice in the bottom of the spray can when you finished?

+1 I remember the days of painted vents and speaker covers, and this looks to be going down that slippery slope.

I too am a fan of the OE look. Black and grays, straight maroon, or straight tan/brown, no exceptions.
