new guy saying hi

hey guys just signed up for the list and wanted to introduce myself. I am a car nut and have owned and raced many kinds of cars but my most recent adventure is an 85 RX-7 GS overall it is in good shape but needs a little work and a few new parts. I'm putting this car together to be a driver but i would also like to add a little pep to it. I based lined it when I bought it last fall on the strip and it could only muster a 18.3 at 65 (a little embarising and before you get all bent out of shape i know rx-7s are made for curves but i wanted to know what i was starting with) I hope to get to know you all as i begin learning about RX-7s.

Welcome to the board, this forum is awesome when it comes to technical help (especially the first gen section). FB's aren't the fastest cars from the factory, but they can sure be made to tear up the streets with the right setup...

Good luck with your project/new car, I look forward to seeing pictures!

I'm sure you'll kill 4 secs off that in no time with a few mods.

The search button will be your best friend for the first few weeks so I suggest using it before posting a new thread so you don't get bashed.

Once again welcome to the forums and it's good to have another fb on the streets.

The more the merrier. Racing background and experience is a plus, means I can answer more intelligent questions, instead of trying to guess the vague meaning of life ones that get posted frequently.

Welcome! Sounds like you may have some work to do. If you get hung up use the search tool first and if you cant find it there, there are lots of intelligent rotor-heads on here that will be more than happy to help!

...welcome to the forum...usually I end up being the first to greet a new recruit...but what can I say my streak is no longer a streak I guess...anyway don't worry about that time...like was already said you'll be able to knock some time off that with a few simple mods...there are some fist gens on this forum that run amazing times...heres an example of someone in a new s-2000 thinking hes going to walk all over this old fb...god I love this movie...
