Welcome to our little niche. Weight reduction really just comes down to how serious you want to get. You can pull out all the goodies down to a bare block in your engine bay, you can pull out your spare tire, jack ect... You can replace your glass with a lighter lexan type material. You can chip off the sound deadening material, you can get fiberglass parts, take out the dash and make a wood, or buy a cf one. Its just how much weight you want to loose.

Great!! Thank you.
What about upgrades to the 12A engine b/c i don't want to swap a 13b, i want to try to keep it original and yet take the most power out of it.

Ok, street port it is, i'm gonna rebuild anyway, the thing is that i'm gonna participate in a rally cross country race that is held in Mexico It's called The Panamerican Race and its about 3069.8 Km of race across the country, so that's why i'm rebuilding.

A GSL-SE comes witha 13B stock and is Fuel injected... so your not restricted to the 12a. You get more torque and HP from the start with a 13b, so that might be worth considering(and you can still streetport the hell out of it)

But i'm looking a 1979-1980 i don't think it came with fuel injected engine, beside its just a classic and old car race like a jaguar 1953, Mercedez 1950, Studenbaker 1945 and cars like that.
