Smile New To the Forum

Hi I am new to this forum. I have been reading the 1st gen posts for a few days now.

What do the FB, FC, and FD actually stand for?

Obviously they represent the three gnerations. But what do the actual letters stand for?

Thanks

welcome to the forum. If you look at the VIN towards the begining it will be something like SA22C, of FB133 something like that, so thats where they come from.

Thanks every one for your responses and not making me feel like and idiot.

I am on my second 1st gen RX man I just love 'em. Bought a 1985 GSL for my first car just after I graduated University. Drove it for two years, and got the bug to relly make it nice and evntually show it, but when push came to shove it was just too tuff to make real nice so I went out and found a 1984 GSL that had never been winter driven and was for sale by the origanal oner. So I bought it and now here I am getting ready to start doing some mods and this seems like a great place to trade information and yack about RXs

Ya have been looking into getting a Racing Beat Street Port Exhaust system, but so far I have not had much luck finding a Canadian Distributer that wants to deal with them. But I relly like the system. I want to get a street port done also but that will be this winter while the car is in storage...

Thanks for the info I apreciate it

some of the really early 79 models are considered 78's by some, but officially they are all 79's
