new car new plans new questions

82 mazda rx7 my second one yay!!! i never thought i would have ever buy a first gen but here i am... i was sold on the the factory spoiler and the sweet old skool wheels lol. im looking to autox the car. i have a new exhaust on the car 2.5 inch all the way i have a pace setter header ordered and i just got a electric fan outta a tauraus im looking but the biggest problem is that its leaking coolant and i havent really got under it to look at where its comming from im guessing its the motor... the car runs great tho starts right up and it has a slight studder once its warm but i think that would be my old *** plugs and wires that prolly havent been replaced sense 82 lol. im not sure what i should be lookin for when i do look. if the motor is bad i would like to pull it and get another one well i have no clue what fits in my car i mean im sure they all would bolt up for the most part but what is different in like 84 or 79 as compared to my car and if its not WAY to complacated like everyone says they are i would like to rebuild it myself but i would like to do a port job to it were are some good places to look for a rebuild kit and how toos i know atkins has the video which i was gonna get im just wondering how good it is lol
o and im sorry if im asking stupid questions the rx7 i had b4 was a 2g and it ran great! and i was in highschool and didnt have the money to do anything to it so i never got into it... not just that im not gonna lie ive been messing with dsms for the last few years so this whole carbarated first gen thing is new to me

Wow, shoulda had a cup of coffee before reading this post. That was the longest damn sentence I think I've ever read! A little bit of punctuation goes a long way...

I can't even remember if you had a question in there, but I do remember that you have a coolant leak. As long as the leak is external (leaking outside of the motor) then the motor is fine. But you need to fix that **** ASAP. You don't want to have coolant issues when dealing with a rotary engine, because they die quickly when overheated. Find the damn leak before you driver her again.

A couple of possible locations would be;

1. O-Rings between the intake manifold and the motor.
2. Just a plain old leaking hose.
3. Radiator.
4. Freeze plug at rear of motor (between motor and tranny).

Okay, and you want to autocross the car too, right? Good call, these cars are a blast and are just made for that kind of racing. If you need suspension advice, or anything of that nature, hit me up and I'll help you out. But first, you've got to go over a few things like brakes and tuneup items. Remember, try to address things in this order as much as possible:

1. Safety (brakes, etc.).
2. Reliability (tuneup, cooling system, etc.).
3. Performance (suspension, tires, carb, etc.).
4. Aesthetics (paint and bodywork).

Take a look at my signature line, check out the videos, and let me know if you have any questions. You're not all that far away from me, so maybe consider bringing the car up for a meet or something. We always have a big 2 day race event around the 4th of July weekend, so I'm thinking this year I'll work a 2 day meet around that.

thanks for some of the info man. first off ill try to use some punctuation lol. just not something i was super worried about , o well english class was not my strong point. anyways, id like to try to make it up some time... but i deff gotta get some work done to the car first. im gonna rock the stock motor for now,i really want to get some kind of a port job done tho.. but if i rebuild the motor myself how hard would it be to port it myself??? i havent got a chance to look under the car yet ive not been home. but i will have lots of time on my hand now cuz i lost my job today . ill keep ya updated on what i find and if i can get some money somewhere to throw at it lol
