New car help
Hi guys,
I am looking for a little advice on buying another 1st gen.
There are two cars I am looking at
A black series 2 with a perfect body (never seen a 1st gen in this good nick) with a 13b (out of a TII) 4 port extracters and 2 1/4 inch exaust all the way back and a well tuned carb.
A yellow series 3 with a little rust in one spot on the fire wall (but it is quite bad, it has made a hole about 3cm in diamiter) and behind the door. It is a 12a turbo (modified from a stock 12a with stock 12a compresion) with a rotorflow muffler. Needs some money spent to fix up the steering (wheel moves in and out) and some of the electrics.
Both are about AUS$ 7.5 thousand. Any opinions on which is the better deal?

Both are pretty expensive, and for that price, I'd go with the no-rust model. As a bonus, the 13B is a far better motor to mod than the 12A. Way more potential!
The 13b out of the TII was EFI, why did it go back to the carb set-up. Several RX-7s were converted using motors fome earlier cars when the 13b was not EFI.
The s2 sounds a better buy, the s3 has some better specs such as a bigger tank but for most street uses they dont really matter.
For prices a look at www.carpoint.com.au or www.ausrotary.com will give you an indication of current prices.
