new car

Ok heres my deal, I just bought an 83 rx7. The guy i had bought it from said he blew a rad coolant line in the ad. When i talked to him in person he said he blew an oil cooling line. Well anyways i brought it home and tried the atf fluid thing and let it sit for a week. Well this weekend i got a breaker bar and like a 3 foot bar and actually got it spinning around. I sat there yesterday for atleast 3 hours with starting fluid, fresh gas, and tried starting it. I tried with the choke closed, with no choke, pumping the gas, holding the pedal all the way down, and every once and a while you could hear it fire but wouldnt start up. I then took the bottom two spark plugs and had someone crank it and i seen flames shoot out the back plug hole but just gettin alot of misted gas/oil comming out the front. I even cleaned the plugs twice, which ended up getting alot of oil on them each time i took them out( thinking left over atf) and the distributor contacts inside the dist cap and the rotor points. I could even see gas comming out of the jets in the carb. I just dunno where to go next and could use some advice on how to get this thing running. Prolly just a tune up....?

Maybe ignition. Check the timing and the ignitors.

still nothing

Ok i replaced the plugs and the wires and all that keeps happening is the plugs are getting a huge amount of oil on them and keeping them from firing. Would this be caused from a seal being broke from getting brittle because of the time it sat without being ran or is the metering pump on the fritz or is this atf fluid left over. I also noticed that there is slight smoking coming from the exhaust pipe but still is not running. i tried switching coil wires and nothing changed, turned the distributor 180 and nothing. We also tried the one spark plug per rotor thing and i could see it shooting flames out the holes. Could it even be the problem of not enough compression or the carb backed up with bad gasoline and not letting the fuel atomize right. I just need some real answers of what to try and what more info is needed to make an assumption because this is the first time working on a carborated engine and on top of that a rotary.

Gelkingt.....did u drain the atf fluid first? If not that could be the reason for the excess oil

shouldn't you just unplug the fuel pump, take out the spark plugs and give it a good cranking?
just get everything outta there.
