I was really tempted, but I prefer the shape and feel of the stock one. Might get a nice leather wrapped later. Nice looking though. Love the rotor one too.

Some guys here in OZ USE THESE ONES

CorkSport for cheap Mazdaspeed leather gearknobs.

These are actually heavier than the stock gearknob, awesome for use with a short shifter (or a stock one). "Mazdaspeed" embossed on the side as pictured, and shift pattern on the top of the ****.

$99USD plus shipping (around $15)!!

I love my original S2 shifter way too much! But if I had to chose I'd take the rotor one too!

Swapped mine for one from a Honda. Same thread pitch, but the threads are way high up in the
**** compared to stock, I would say it lowered the top by about half an inch.

I agree with Mazdaverx....at least in the pix it looks a tad bulky....I'd like it to be about 25% smaller. Then I'd get one,

I tried to put an after-market shift **** on my stock SE shifter and had no success. I cannot figure out what size and pitch fits the stock shifter. They send me a metric 10 and a 12 but neither fit. I went to the hardware store with the stock **** and I couldn't figure out what bolts fit it

Anyone have tips on what they did to get aftermarket products to fit?

From a Honda? Really? What model is the same as a 1st gen RX7?

Had the luck of getting one from a friend who used to work for a local Mazdadealer and used it in my FC. Looked and felt great especially illuminated but had to get used again to the shifting because the leaver gets shorter..

I think not. I had to (don't know the exact english word for it so correct me) drill it out just a little bit to get it correct for the FC shifter. I think the size leaver of the FB and the FC are the same atleast for the european cars.

If you dont mind me asking, where did you pick up that aftermarket console kit? I got one from bestkits.com and it was total garbage.

no kit... If you're meaning the 2 shelf unit, it was in a replacement bezel I grabbed off a guy to replace my orig that was broken. Just tossed them in so it wasn't an empty din.
