Cool Nice Kit!

I like what your doing, the whole thing will look much different once you get it painted or at least one color of primer.
The presentation with the wheels in the pic you provided was not appealing, needs at least 205/50/15 wheels or larger with that look and it must be lower or it just won't look the way you intended.
I like the lower look myself and I still get around the speed bumps(deep dips are another matter).
I think you got a winner on your hands, it will give the SA/FB a new life.
Here's my car with flares and skirts and airdam.

Ehhhh. The front bumper is nice but i think its dramatic. If you could highlight the stock lines but improve on them without robbing from the contours id like it. Has anyone seen lastlaps 7 thats saweet IMO

Black rubber is gone.

Kit should be available in a month or so once design tweeks (yes, they are watching your responses) are done.

205/50/16 wheels and tires in my garage waiting to be mounted once I get my car back.

Note: I have no relations with the manufacturer other than letting them use my car as a test mule for development of this kit.

I like the front and don't mind the skirts ... the rear as all have mentioned need to be done more like other kits ...

Also I have a question that might concern a few of us. The group that I'm refering too is the one that have take out all the side black strips. The elevated parts on the bumpers front and rear do not go with our body styling. (Shaved look). Would there be a way of meeting both our needs? ie people have to cut they're own side marker lens hole, and have to glue or add on those pieces to match the side black pieces as oppose to being made already on there.

For the side skirts ... I would like to see someone do a change and make them just be under the sills. as oppose to going up on the front and rear fenders. This is once again to follow the need of people that are going with the shaved look. it just wouldn't look right looking at it from the top down. Or even once again if they can be made so that if you could cut them in a straight line somewhere, and just radius the edge that it would look like it just was made to fit under the door sills.

Still awaiting price quotes.

How did it fit into the context of the time period it was created in and for? Unless you can understand and answer these questions you are not in a position to update or improve an icon, or anything else. Just my opinion.
You are not alone. Even though I am young I have an old soul and an appreciation for the original way in which things were desinged. For mechanical aspects I am a bit more lenient; such as when there is a new material created that works much better than the original without harming the style and complex simplicity of the original.

Personally, I do not like body kits. I mean the Mariah looks ok.....but not on a 1st Gen, body mods are nothing shor of demeaning to the original RX-7.

(All IMO)

all the body kits for first gens (used) to be ok but all are starting to seem similar, sort of a been there seen that type deal. especially the wide body kits. SOOOO out dated. most old school cars should remain classic and ALL look incredible with a set of simple bolt on fender flares. small peices but do wonders for any first gen. they give you the option of going deep dish, are cheap and easy to install but still keep that sleek original body line. in the states it seems freakin impossible to find a set that are made for an RX. all the others either have to be molded because they belong to another car or made from scratch.

Hey dude, looks good but I also agree that the rear needs to be rolled under. And I'm a little partial to my side skirts. By driving mine, its a lot more comfortable with a little room under the front to ease going into parking lots, driveways, speed bumps, etc. I've even smacked mine coming out of a parking lot. I think if you make it too low in the front you will regret putting it on your car because it won't last long. Also, the lower front edge will need to be reinforced to withstand road hazards. As I said, I have smacked mine and its been hit on the highway by flying debris and its still together and holding up fine. Ryan Li sent me pics of this design a few months ago and I still have the same feeling now that I had then. You also asked about the wheels, I'm not feeling the wheels at all. Simply not sporty enough for this caliber of car. Then again with some bright red paint on the car, they may blend, who knows. As for a new hood, I have spoken with Ryan about and yes he says they are going to do a TII style hood. Which looks good, however, I can't see it being very functional. Most turboed 1st 7's are not running top mount intercoolers. Personally, I think more of a Vader style that could vent some heat out over the car while cool air comes in from the front would be more effecient. Anyway, my $.02 worth.

As to the question of low Vs. high air dam:

I used to have one on a 240Z years back. The dam itself came down to a reasonable level, then had a rubber skirt that took it down quite low. It looked great, and the rubber skirt was thick enough that it still performed well and wore great. This could be something to consider...

Btw for the sideskirts; is the shop considering the fact that a jack is still a necessity to fit under those low sideskirts even when the car is lowered? If not, how about a scissor jack at least? I had Erebuni side skirts back in the day and it was probably nowhere as low as that, but I still had problems fitting a jack from the side.

The same actually goes for the front end too... Will a regular jack or 5 ton type of jack still fit under going into the subframe? I also had problems w/ this w/ a body kit similar to this in height.

I don't or am not able to jack my car from the front. Their is simply too much car over the jack by the time it gets to where it needs to be for a solid jacking point. Also, the jack is completely covered by the car, theirs no room to move the handle. As for the sides, even if they are a little low, you should still be able to get in their because the jacking points a relatively close to the side and either in front or right behind the wheels. This gives the car the support it needs to properly jack it up. As for a 5ton jack, I don't think you need a jack that large for this car.

Just my opinion, the whole kit looks like it came from a mix of late 80's - early 90's cars (haven't seen the FC kit but I'm guessing that's why if this is cloned from it) -front looks like a Supra, the sides are reminiscent of a Stealth, and the back looks like a Mustang. The front looks best, the sides are ok, but I'm not feeling the back at all.

front end looks too modern. back is too fat for a small car.

I like kits that keep the shape of the front end, yet adds a needed front splitter so it won't lift.
