new 1st gen

well i've owned a silver/blueish 1st gen for about a year now and found this one down in slc for 400, the owner said he was driving one day, the car went 'click' and just died, his mechanic friend told him it was seized up or blown and so he just sold it for cheap. i've just barely put it in the garage, im waiting to borrow a breaker bar so i can try and crank the motor and see what happens, then just start from there but here's a pic for now, body is just about perfect besides some small thnigs, interior is great, best part is there really is no rust at all.

Awsome find man. The engine went "click" eh, did you try and turn it by hand or are you just waiting for that breaker bar to turn it over. Id try and turn it by hand first if i was you. Just throw it in nuetral and use your hands, it should turn fairly easy. Maybe if your lucky and its not the engine thats wrong but just a leading ignitor. That would be sweet.
What year?
How many miles on it?
No rust... now that is even more awsome.

Pull the spark plugs and try turning it by hand first. A clicking starter doesn't mean the engine is froze. It could be a weak battery, poor cable connections or the starter solenoid is going out. Who knows, you might get lucky and have a good engine and an ignorant po.

Good find!! Even if the engine is shot, you can get a used engine or have that one rebuilt. Worst case, you put a grand or so in the engine. You would still have a good deal less than 2 grand in it.

Couldn't be said any better if I were to say it myself. You got yourself a tremendously great deal for 400 bucks. And if the worst case scenerio is true and you have to rebuild - porting time.
