Aux Oil Pump....

I have a question about the auxilary oil pump.... My gasket was leaking and I could not seem to find one anywhere without buying a new pump....

I ended up using some RTV and putting it back together- I have not started the engine yet.... However I got to thinking... The little return hole that is on the pump... If the RTV went in places it was not supposed too.... can I cause damage basically blocking off the pump...

Should I try to find a gasket?

Or is it ok?

Are you talking about the main pump under the front cover or the mop? If it's the mop, I make my own gaskets when needed. You can buy sheets of it at the parts store.

I think he's talking about the OMP. Yes if the RTV blocks the hole you can have a problem. Mazdatrix sells the gasket, its not much $. Or make one from gasket paper.

That's the mop. Make a gasket for it, just to be on the safe side, or order one from RB or Mazdatrix.
