There are no marks on the e-shaft. There are only marks on the pulley. One is yellow which is the leading, the other being orange which is trailing. If they are not marked color wise then the 1st mark that comes to you when the pulley is rotated correctly is the leading mark. You can either put the pulley on the 1st mark and see if the dist rotor is pointing toward the L1 posisition on the cap or if the pulley is off it should be that the key way is facing at the 9 O'clock posistion which is toward the exhaust manifold, then the pulley mounting bolts will be at the 12 O'clock with the yellow or 1st mark lineing up to the pointer.

While you may not be able to see them, you might be able to feel them. If that fails, there is a write up in the archives for finding TDC.
