Angry Needs to be set straight

Now i know not all of you are guilty of this but it just pisses me off when people call first gens "FB" because there not, the 2gs are FC's and the 3gs are FD's but the first gen for some unknown reason is "SA22" don't ask why, but just stop calling it an FB
THANK YOU

Dude, the first gens form 81-85 are FB3S, according to the VIN numbers

78-80 are SA22

Get it right before you say we're wrong.

Wow! The starter of this thread has a whopping 6 posts and is telling us all about how wrong we are! Even if they are called SA's overseas that still doesn't change the fact that in north america everything 81-85 was designated FB. I think any respectable rotary enthusiast overseas would be able to tell you this too.

Thanks for nearly setting him straight Jay! Gotta set these newbs on the right track.

Gregs, thanks for tipping in Jay's rebound.

When a car is reffered to as a "code" it is most likely reffering to a VIN association. Just like honda civics from 1992-1995 are called "EG" and 96-99 is "EK". It applies to all cars. Look at a 1st gens VIN plate sometime. Cuz you spoke up to soon and you got "OWNED"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

Jeebus, how did I mess THAT up?!

Mistake DULY noted. I was probably looking at my horrible writing from when I wrote out my VIN and somehow saw an S instead of the three.

It's an easy mistake to make. Especially with 2nd gens being FC3S.

Ah, that's it! I have an FC's VIN from a junkyard written right beneath it, and, well, we know how our minds work on sleep deprivation!

That's actually a good idea. Take pictures of the plate instead of writing it out, when it's windy, on a not-so-smooth surface.

That's like asking why insurance classifies Civics as sports cars.

Hey now, my old boss was a woman, and she could beat me in a race any day!

Ironically, the first car she ever flipped was a Civic. . . .
