Need some input for Rims on GSL-SE

Need some winter rims, and a buddy's selling these:

Mazda 323 GTX rims/tires

4x114.3mm (4.5”), 45mm offset, 7 spoke design

i belive the se rims are 40mm offset, can anyone give me an idea whether these rims will fir or will cause any driveability issues?

or just look dorky?

whats the stock GSL-SE rim offset? i read somewhere it was 40mm is this correct?

5m shouldnt make that much of a difference, especially given 195 snow tires are going on them?

i'm just trying to determine whether they're even worth looking at fit wise.

Just put them on your 7 and see. Check the clearance and make sure they don't rub. I'm sure your friend wouldn't mind. Good luck.

So if SE wheels are a 40mm offset, then a 45mm offset should almost be unnoticable?

5 mm is quite a bit. I have the SE rims ready for you to check out when you want.

btw, spacers are hard on wheel studs. You'll also need to see if the 323 rims have the same center hole diameter so you maintain a hubcentric fitment.

I really need to read up on what effects offset has on a car.
I mean, 5mm can't be a major issue can it?

no, 5mm isn't that much of a difference, but that car is based off a fwd platform, so the offset is quite high. try using a 14x7 or 15x7 +20ish offset, 4x114.3 that way you won't need spacers.

Okay, so an ideal rim will be 14x7 or 15x7 with at +20ish offset?

are teh SE stock rims +20ish? or are they as i have read elsewhere +40 for offset?

i shouldn't need a spacer for 5m difference should i?

Check to see how much space you have between you strut towers and your tires now, with the fwd rims you will have less.
