need some advice

My car started running really bad a few days ago. No power at all. I have to downshift and rev the motor up before releasing he clutch to get any movement power out of it to increase speed.

Stopped by the training center here at work and the guy pulled the leading wires off and there was no difference in the idle. Pulled the trailing off and the car almost shut off. Each side did that.

So now I'm off to buy plugs and wires. but i have been noticing something that the motor shakes really bad at idle with the leading plugs fouled out. I am sure that i need mounts.

I'm wondering if the hockey pucks would work for this. Is there a better option or would i be better off just putting stock ones back on. Motor and trainy.

I dont think your plugs are the problem it sounds like your leading ignitor went out. Thats what you need to replace. Its one of the little black squares on the out side of the distributor. To see if this is this is the case try switching the ignotor positions and it should be a little more drivable.

I might have some for sale so ill check my garage and see, but from the dealler there a couple hundred so your best bet is the forum, craigslist, or ebay.

Hockey pucks have have been know to work, except in extreme cold they tend to shatter. Sounds like you've lost the leading ignitor as indicated by lack of power and fouled leading plugs.

well it doesn't matter much now... The car will not turn over. I was driving it to the auto parts place today at lunch and it just clunked a bit and turn off. Now it will not even turn over.

Not sure what to do now. Oh well .. will try and break it loose if i can. I hope that the motor has not seized.

see if you can spin the engine by hand. you can grab the water pump belt and give it a tug with or without the plugs in. that'll give you some insight as to whether it is or isnt locked
