You need to find out more specifics on the cars condition. Pictures never tell the whole story. Both cars appear clean and nice but the ad says absolutely nothing about issues or mechanical condition. On the face of it, $3,500 for 2 SA's is a good deal. The real question is why is it such a good deal? There is a reason, I guantee it. I'd give them a call and find out more details. Why is the black car a parts car? If I was still interested, I'd make a trip to go see them with cash in hand and a trailer. The cost of getting them home must be considered in and 2 cars would present more of a challenge.

Good SA parts are getting scarcer so you probablly could sell off what you don't need and recoupe some of your cost. Listings advertised at "OBO" mean they are wiling to negotiate. I'd bet that if you offered $2,500 you could get both for 3K even.

That seems a little fishy to new, like the reason the 80 is a parts car is cause it's stolen with no title, our some crap liked that. It just seems like too nice of a car, but liked stated before pictures never tell the whole story.

you are assuming that, and it might be a good idea to make sure you are correct.

I have seen those RX7 on craigslist for awhile. I would check them out to make sure they are all good.

Says title status clean. Maybe one has a mechanic lean on it? They look nice.

"new Firestone 180-75-13s" ??

What? Firestone doesn't make new 13" tires. And I hope the size is a typo.

The whole ad seems fishy.

This seams like a steal i am meeting him tomorrow. He says all original nothing wrong with the car original miles, no rust he says almost perfect condition. The black one he says is a neighbors motor is locked up he thinks. He will also deliver the parts car o me so no worry on that part. So any last worlds would help alot.

That red SA looks very nice. If you do pick it up, try driving it 'as-is' for a while. Unmolested SA's are hard to find nowadays. If you're lucky, the black car with the 'seized engine' can be freed up with some seafoam and you'll have another running 7 to sell and make back some of your cash.

Yep, I think we'll believe it when we see it. Not that that's a challenge or anything; do what's best for you. Personally, I'm just as happy to see someone walk away from a bad deal as get a good one.

Be cautious. 1st rule of car buying, new or used: Always be ready to walk away if you have to. I'm a glass-half-full kind of guy, but there's always that possibility that you'll end up with 3 basket cases instead of just one.

Also be grateful for the community here and especially the way the other thread ended. Every other car forum I've been on that would have ended in profanity-laced name-calling and banning...

Anyway, good luck!

Well the guy said the red car is near mint with nothing wrong with it i have owned this car long enough to see when i get there what is wrong if anything. So mebe the last car i didn't get was a blessing and now i am going to get this one that is in way better shape and almost the same price.

Had i problem with my cash and the guy. The guy ended up being a pain in the *** to haggle with in the beginning he would even budge on the 3500 even though he said or best offer but i got him down to 3k. But my check won't be able to cash until tomorrow so i will meet him tomorrow hand him the cash and i will be the owner of 3 rx7's lol.

Pretty ballsy to haggle with a guy without the cash in hand, IMHO. Maybe, next time, wait until you have the bills in your hands before the chiseling process begins.

Just a friendly suggestion.

How did the red one run? Did you get to drive it around? Noises, clunks, rattles?

Tell us more. I'm quite jealous because, from the pictures, that's a gorgeous SA.

Another friendly suggestion, if the guy is willing to haggle over the phone, there's something wrong with this sale. Be cautious.

Haggling over the phone is something I don't do. What would happen if you haggle over the phone and then you see the cars and they aren't what you expected? The buyer isn't going to like it if you try and get the price down lower. He'll probably tell you to hit the bricks.

Best of luck. My motto, like others have stated here, is to be prepared to walk away. It's one of the few negotiation tactics you have as a buyer. Don't be to enthused and don't try to make it sound like you know everything about RX-7s. You need to befriend the seller and get on his good side.
