ok, so my clutch was starting to stick to the floor a bit and so i thought my master clutch cylinder was dying on me. so i was gonna replace the master and slave clutch cylinder and a new hose.... but i noticed that my clutch fluid needed to be flushed as well. do you think that could be causing the problem.... dirty clutch fluid. and not the cylinder. or do you think it really is the cylinder giving me trouble? what is most likely causing this problem? and what do you suggest i do?

Mine was doin that so i started by just replacing the slave cylinder. Its like a 15 minute task, and costs like 20 bucks. If that dont fix it move onto master cylinder

so you don't think its just from dirty clutch fluid?

Try flushing first. If that doesnt fix it then start with slave then master, both are a piece of cake either way. Just make sure you have a deep well for the master or youll be cussing!

When the fluid turns to a black (dark) colour . That is the first sign of a fluid contamination. The system has a air leak, could be the slave,the master , or even the hose. I'd rebuild the master for the clutch IMO. I would also add :: buy a stainless braided hose. Next time your checking out nice, badass cars.. look at the brake and clutch master cycl's and check the colour of the fluid(s).. The goal is to keep the fluid(s) as clear as one can.

If the clutch fluid is a darker color you have a leak some where...I recently had this problem...It was recommended to me that both master and slave cylinders be replaced or rebuilt...and check hose and the connections...make sure you bleed it well to extract all the air...

We had a problem with a customer's vehicle at the shop with a Clutch that was doing the same thing.

It came back TWICE with the same problem and replacing the clutch slave and master TWICE.

In the end replacing the metal line the the rubber line did the trick. Check those closley.

Look at the rubber boots over the clutch master acuator rod and see if it is wet as well as the slace boot.

Peel the boot back and take a look inside the dust boot. Any fluid? Sometimes the boot will look dry but if you squeeze it fluid will run out.

ok so listen to this..... this saved me so much freakin money. holy ****..... i thought i was gonna have to replace the master and slave cylinders, BUT..... i flushed my clutch fluids and adjusted my clutch so its firmer....and guess what! its absolutely fine now. no more sticky clutch and boy does she run like a champ!! hell yeah!!!

But that doesn't repair,,,why the fluid turned dark.
I think all the clutch masters, in all are cars is designed to fail, because the fluid always turns dark, slowly. it's either the rubber, or the metal (poor grade)

well i just bought the car. so i don't know how long the fluid had been dark. and it had been that way ever since i had it. so..... i don't know what exactly the dealy is yo.
