Need interior/exterior parts for 1980 RX7
Hi Everybody.
I'm new to the RX7 world and wanted to connect with a few of you in the Toronto, Canada area specifically in Mississauga.
I just picked up a 1980 Mazda RX7 that's been stored for the last 12 years or so. The previous owner is my brother and he would drive the car periodically to keep it limber and in running order. It had an emissions test 4 years ago and passed with flying colours.
It has 145,000 KM (app. 90,000 miles) on it and everything is still, pretty much, original. No rust anywhere, never winter driven, original paint, etc.
I need to replace some parts on it and would like to keep the car as original as possible so I would like to replace them with 1980 parts (I need 2 seats, an arm rest, driver side interior door handle, outside mirrors, etc). Does anyone have any 1980 parts that they're willing to sell. I'm willing to pick up whatever I can get as long as the price is reasonable (if I can use this word for this car).
I would also like to start working on the car myself and learn more about it but I'm not very mechanically inclined when it comes to cars. Is there someone out there who would be willing to spend some time helping me get this car in tip top shape (ie: tune up, oil change, carb rebuild, new exhaust, etc)? Otherwise I will have to take it to a mechanic and if that's the case who would you guys recommend.
I'm looking forward to connecting with as many as are interested. Drop me a line.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum, and the Dark Side of your life.
We even have a member from your town, don't recall his name off hand. We also have a Candian section on the forum and a for sale section. Post a wtb in there for the parts you need.
To cover the basics, peruse the stickys at the begining of the 1st gen forum and familiarize yourself with your car. There many good links. In all honesty, we rarely recommend mechanics due to thier lack of knowledge when it comes to working in the engine bay of a rotary. On the other hand, they are still cars and 90% of the 7 is no different than any other of it's era.
Again, welcome.
