Need input from those who have or are using ground control coilovers

Looking for input as to how they handled/rode.

The ground control coil over kit for the front with their matched Eibach springs and matched eibach springs for the rear. Also what brand shocks/struts were or are you using?

Thanks.

The ground controls are just sleeves, are you getting the camber plates as well? The thing to determine ride will be the shocks.

I have 375 front / 250 rear (with panhard/trilink) and I would drive it everyday if the car can pass smog. The key is to have good damping shocks. I have konis that could use a rebuilt, but they work for now. The ride is a bit stiff, but tolerable.

I have the gc coilovers w/ 300lb springs up front & re-speed 150/160 lb springs w/adjustable perches in back. Tokico blues all around poly bushings all around as well.

Still getting used to the ride not my daily driver - big improvement over previous eibach pro kit setup

Ground control stuff and Respeed stuff is the same thing, you get the spring rate and shocks you want and go with it. Just pick the one that is cheaper.

mine rides ok, its just a pro7, which is prolly what they are still selling. its on blown illuminas.

ride is a function of spring rate, and shock stiffness. if the shocks match the springs, it'll ride ok.

the coil over hardware/camber plates have almost no effect on ride

I have the ground control coil overs and camber plates on my sa also have the gforce engineering tri link and panhard bar in the rear eibach springs all the way around forgot the spring rates its been about 5 years since i installed them. I also have advance design shocks which are adjustable for rebound and compression.
I like the entire set up for track days and autox. I am going to start driving the car to close events for now instead of towing the car to events to save on gas. So I will give you an update on ride comfort. I think that ride comfort is all about spring rates not being to high and the shocks either being matched to the spring rate or just getting a good set of adjustable shocks. the coilovers are really just a tool to help adjust your corner weights of your car or just lower it if all you are going for is looks.
my 2 cents

Thanks for all the input guys.

They came on a car that I picked up. I need to call Ground control with the part numbers and find out what the spring rates are.

I won/t know what the front struts are until I disassemble them.

The spring should have numbers on it. This is how you identify them, if the springs says 0800.250.0350, it means the springs are 8 inches long since the first number is always the length, the second one is diameter - 2.5 inches, and the third number is the spring rate - 350 lbs.

Unfortunately their numbering system does not work that way at least not for the rear. The fronts may be 180 lb going my their number.

Rear # is just GCRX-7RR Translates into Ground control RX-7 Rear with number
84767 which is probably their number that designates the LB rate I hope.

The front GC180-64-61 with a number of 98945.
I am guessing that the 180 is spring rate?

I'll wind up calling them Monday.

no, it's a standard spring with the coilover kit, you'll have to figure it out through other means.

Called them and the fronts are 350LB and the rears are 200LB springs.

I put the rear springs on the SE with Tokico blues. The ride is not bad at all.
I have to remove the struts from the front housings and see what brand of struts they are. Still not convinced I want to run 350LB springs on the front for a daily driver. :-)
