Need info on camden supercharger
So I scored this set up the other day.normally I deal with turbos but for the price I got it for I decided to get it and try it out.
I'm trying to find out what size it is.from other picture comparisons it seems to be a 7"
Is the holley a good carb for this?or should I ditch it and get a different carb.guy who sold it to me said its a 550 holley.
Came pretty complete but I believe I might be missing something for the idler pulley, maybe a bracket.
Came with
Holley carb
Supercharger
13b oldschool 4 port intake
Main crank pulley
Water pump pulley
Alternator with pulley
Idler pulley
Oil filter adapter for oil feed
Air filter
All for $$$

It's not junk. But it is cheap and not tuneable (air bleeds are fixed). I have an Edelbrock 600 performer series on a Camden 5". Seems to work fine so far. Haven't really pushed it though.

Yes, those are junk. By no means a "performance" carb. I throw 70% of one of those carbs in the garbage when im building one for an RX7...
Try this:
Demon 360° Product Pictures
Its a 625, AVS style anti-slosh fuel bowl "street carb"
Its a heavily modified/redesigned carter/edelbrock. Its a spreadbore carb on a square flange, and has metering rods.
It also has triple stack primary boosters like the nikki carb had (albeit for a reason
)
Electric choke that can be used with a 30 dollar rheostat for proper choke operation, has overhead air bleeds that are easily converted to 8/32 changeable bleeds, and the fuel body is made of phenolic material like a thermoquad, so no boiling fuel. Ever.
Im using one on a half bridge project and its perfect. I think it would be more perfect for an open plenum supercharged build.
Also, thats a demon 1901 if you wanted the PN#

Checked the holley for list numbers and it is a 4160 style 600cfm holley.
I'm gonna look into that other carb you suggested.i have tried the demon carbs before but it was on a 68 mustang fastback I used to own and was like 10 years ago.

Nice find Dave! Interested to see how it performs on the Repu. I was initially interested in a supercharger but the price was too high to justify the expense, still toying around with a blowthrough setup
Yeah the price on these new is crazy.i only got it cause it was for a good price($500)for everything.
I was already going to supercharge the repu but a bit differently.
I was going to use a eaton m90 supercharger with efi and intercooler and microtech, but I can use this camden to get it running while I fabricate the other set up.not looking for crazy horsepower just something to get the truck up and moving a bit better than n/a.
We all know that turbo is where the real power is at.
