Need Help! Wipers

My 83 has been sitting for 6 months. I had bought some used ignitors and I think they went bad again. Anyway, I just now got some more used ignitors and put them on over the weekend. I charged up my battery and when I turned the key the wipers won't stop at all. They change speed from slow to fast, but do not delay either when the switch is set for intermittent.?? I've done some searching on wipers and it seems that the CPU controls the intermittent part of the wipers.

SO

I'm thinking maybe something is up with the CPU since it won't stop at all or work intermittently??? What do the 7 gods have to say??

I had mine do that on my 82 once. I never really figured out what caused it to happen. I just pulled the fuse for the wipers to turn them off. When I replaced the fuse to try to figure out what was wrong the wipers were working fine and have ever since. Try pulling your wiper fuse. Maybe it resets something in the CPU. Worked for me anyhow.

I had a similar problem. But the wipers would not work. I also pulled the fuse and put it back in. Then they worked...

I would assume that its a "stuck relay" problem. Once you guys remove the fuse it cuts the circuit and there fore "resets" the relay. I've had that happen quite a few time in electric class its a normal thing depending on how the relay is wired up I noticed.
