Question Need help locating Rear Calipers for 85 rx7 GSL

the long version was rudely forgotten by the forum. log in, type it up, click submit, you're not logged in. outstanding. just what I need to add to the vexation this problem is causing me.
I'm stuck at my ex wifes house. I won't go into details but lets just say I don't want to be here any more. can't drive more than a mile before rims are hot enough to fry egg on. don't even need to take the rim off, just throw egg at it, it'll be fully cooked before it hits the ground.
ordered parts from checker, or what used to be checker on the 11th, get parts yesterday, and they don't fit. need both rear calipers. or, rebuild kid for rear calipers. budget is about $200.
the temporary solution so I can getmyself and my stuff away from the ex wife is to cap the rear brake lines. going to a fastenall place later to find something to cap the hoses with. if anyone with experience with finding parts for an 85 GSL can point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If you need parts ASAP check the for sale section of the forum and find someone who will be able to overnight a set of rear calipers. Aside from that (if you can't find someone selling calipers), try rockauto.com or try http://www.apexautoparts.net/apex.html, but of course ordering from a company is going to take longer than a private transaction.

Good luck! Oh, and for future reference, ALWAYS copy+paste your response before you post. I've had that happen to me many a times and it can be infuriating.

So, my friend took me to Fastenall, we got two 1/8th inch pipe caps.... 3 hours and a pair of vice grips later... it still leaks a wee wee bit when you step on the brakes. and i think there's some issue with the front brakes now... but my god, running with no calipers on the rear my car has got up and went... this tells me that those rear calipers have been dragging for a long time. that explains why the P.O. replaced the brakes in january and by july the pads needed to be replaced again. but now... I realized toward the end of wrenching on pipe caps... I'll need new rubber brake lines when I finally do find calipers....

try changing the lines first, I have been in the parts biz for a while and "if I had a dollar for..." LOL

The rubber brake hoses tends to breakdown from the inside, this can result in the hose acting as a check valve letting the pressure go to the calipers but not release.

Yeah may sound goofy, may not be applicable in your case

Oh and I am sure someone will say I am all wet, but just try it you've got nothing to lose

Sounds like you are going from the frying pan into the fire with this "Bailing wire " repair!

Having a brake system leak and driving the car is not the smartest thing to do! Once the fluid gets low enough (can happen very quickly) will cause a total loss of brakes. You will be introducing air into the system and then the next thing you know will be waking up (If your lucky) at the local Hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, the brake fittings are "Metric" and not SAE and that is why you have a leak at the back.

I was going to say. Of all things - pipe caps? Wow...

Please don't drive around me or my family with that thing leaking like that. If fluid is coming out when you step down, that means when you release air is working its way up the line.
