Need help getting diff out
85 base model. Have an lsd I want to install. So far.... I've got the diff unbolted all around, driveshaft unbolted from the diff and the left rear hub is off... Kinda. See pic. I can do the same to the other side, then what is next?

its supposed to do that
Once the retainer/backing plate is unbolted, a slide hammer slips them right out. You can also bolt a wheel back onto the hub face and give it a few mallet taps.

There are three or four bolts (depending on whether it is disc or drum rear), that bolt the bearing retainer to the end of the axle tube. On a disc rear you can sneak a wrench in there once the rotor is off. It has been a while since I worked on drums, but IIRC you can see them and sneak in a wrench at the stage you are at now. Look behind the axle itself and you will see the bolt heads. If you look on the back side of the brake backing plate you can see the threaded bosses in the axle tube and get an idea of orientation.

You need to disconnect the hydraulic lines from the brake wheel cylinders, then undo the 4 nuts behind the backing plate. Then you can pull the axles out a little. If you need to pull them out a little more, the parking brake cable will have to be disconnected, but it's much easier to disconnect/reattach it with shoes pulled out.
Like what was said above, use a slide hammer on the hub or bolt a wheel to the hub and use a rubber mallet.
