Exclamation Need Help Finishing My Engine Swap!!

Over my break i finally got around to swapping in my engine...

I have everything in and it was really easy..but i have some wires that i need to get hooked up that i have no idea where they go...

one is on the starter its a really small one...and then a few wires with clips that are hooked up to the tranny at one end but the others i have no idea where

I WILL GO GET SOME PICS NOW BUT I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET SOME PEOPLE TO NOTICE THIS AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR IT ONCE I GET THE PICS UP...

The really small wire on the starter can be ignored I think. I encountered the same thing on an '83. I didn't worry about it and there have been no problems.

The other wires on the tranny are probably for the reverse switch.

1st Pic.....the purple is the water temp but on my old engine it was a nipple that stuck off this one was a tab so i cut the wire and put that on there and the other wire went to the oil pressure guage but i dont use the stock one anymore...

2nd....that is the boot i just saw when i was taking the pics and i think the wires in the 3rd pic plug into there......

3rd....these are the plugs that come off the tranny that plug into the harness in the 2nd pic...

4th....this is the other end of those wires that are on the tranny and run into pics 2 and 3..

5th...are the wires come off the oil pan there are those two and then one more that im not holding but still needs to be hooked up.....

the last pic if I recall corectlly is the low oil sensor, and as for the other look for lugs on the car that look like that they might fit and try it out that is my best sugestion and for some peace of mind go ahead and rewire your starter just change out the wires to some bigger ones like 10 gouge or so the car will start a lot easer especially when it hot outside.

sqeaking noise? you sead you replaced your clutch right it might be it since you need to let it brake in for about 500 miles or so before you start stomping on it or it will start slipping like hell.

Squeeling noise could be a vacuum leak between the intake manifold and the engine. Tighten the manifold bolts, restart and see if it still makes noise. If so, take a can of carb cleaner and spray it around the manifold, carb and vacuum lines to see if the engine quiets down or the RPM increases.

i just spent several hours trying to time it.....(it was my first time) and it seemed as though even though i had everything lined up and the main pulley on the engine between the two knotches the timing was WAY off when i went to time it the knotches were pointed down to the headers!!!!!!!! so i finally have it to were the leading is just on the inside of the right knotch...but when i hooked the timing light up to the trailing wire it showed the knotches yet again WAY off but there was no way in changing where they were at even after moving that pot all the way in and out on the dizzy.....

maybe the main pully is slipping on the eshaft, may not be keyed properly.
