need help with direct fire

i was reading the EASY 2nd gen direct fire install - 20 minutes thread, but i somehow don't really get it. I followed the procedures, cut the black wires and connected it together. one from the resistor and the other black wire have a female plug on there. what do i plug the black wire w/ the female plug to? the other wire on the ballast resistor is connected to the - side of the coil. do i connect all the - wires from the old coil to the - on the 2nd gen coil with the black wire from the resistor on there? for the + side i just hook up the + from the old coil to the + on the 2nd gen coil right? i don't want to sound stupid or nothin but i just want to get it right and not f**k nothin up on my car. for some reason the pics on the direct fire thread don't load.

krazy, I got this working on my 7. Piece of cake. You've got the + part correct. Just transfer the + wire from the old coil to the FC + connection. Then connect your - wire from your old coil to one side of the ballast resistor. The other side of the ballast resistor will go to the - connection on the FC coil. I removed the Female connector you're talking about.

There is a picture, though it doesn't show much detail at http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/481359/3 of my install. If you'd like better pictures and or a wiring diagram, I can email them, just PM me. PM me anyway, I'd like to talk to you about your dual DCD setup.

For those that will ask, the + line from the old coil can be ran to the ballast resister, the other side of the ballast resistor will connect to the + terminal on the FC coil and then the - line from the old coil will connect directly to the - connection on the FC coil. As long as the resistor is in series with the coil, the chance of blowing an igniter is much, much less.

I've been running my FC direct fire ignition for a few months now with no problems unless better gas mileage is a problem?
