Need Help on Amp location

I'm stickin with the 1st gen forum for this question - topics tend to get lost in the clutter of the audio forum.

I've got all my components together and want to start the install ASAP. I'm looking for advice on where to put the amp but I'll first give you all the details:

MRV-F401 Alpine Amp (60 x 4 RMS)
7874 Alpine HU
Infinity Kappa (coaxiles) 6.5's - Rear
Infinity Kappa ( " ) 4's - front

I'm having fibre gl kick's built for the 4" speakers - not on the doors - they'll be mounted near the stock location angled up to the driver. I know the 4's are not the best for the front but that's what I'll be doing (various reasons I won't get into)

The 6.5's will go in the stock locations
NO sub

OK - where to put the amp. What I'm really looking for is a location that will cause the least amount of customizing, ie; I would like to be able to return the car to stock form if/when needed.
I know there are a few of you who are really up to speed on this stuff - any help (and pic's) would be much appreciated. Any other feedback on the components, with suggestions, is also welcome. Thanks

I sat mine in teh driver side compartment, its easy to run wires too, my particular amp (soundstream reference 405s) happens to fit right in. If you ever wanna take it out you just take it out your done. I had it cranked last summer in the 100 degree weather with the compartment closed and had no heat realated problems.

82 - I assume you removed the compartment pocket - there's no way my amp will fit in that pocket. Can you please confirm - thanks

I had two amps, each located behind the compartment frame in my 85. Are you going to drill new holes for 6.5" in the rear?

My amp isn't that huge so it fit in the pocket like that pic directfreak posted, mine is placed/setup identical to his. I can grab a pic later if you still wanna see it.

Directfreak - what did you mount the amp to? I think my amps a little wider than your Sony but it may work

85RX7, my error - they are 6" speakers. I meant to provide the model number which is actually model # 62.5

How big is your amp?? I put mine (when it still had a sound system) hanging upside down in the Passanger side compartmant. Worked perfectly. Like 82 said, very east to run wires to....

From what I can see directfreak has it sitting in there in the carpet like mine is. No need to hold it down it a tight fit in there and it doesn't move.

Yep. Just placed in there. I decided not to complicate things, since it really was that snug on top of the carpet.
