my 1st gen 81 rx has a bit of a power problem it seems to get up to 3rd gear and switching to 4th looses all sorts of power now there was a line near my oil sensor that seems to be slightly disconnected and leaking oil any idea if this is the cause ?

 

I dont know about that line, sounds like its the coolant temp sensor I think and shouldnt be leaking oil. Is it an automatic? And how does 5th feel? Im not he most knowledgeable but you might want to check the fuel filter to KISS it (Keep It Simple Stupid) float bowls might be getting empty by the time you hit 4th and causing a power issue. On the more complex side you might have a trans issue.

its a manual and ive never even have the chance the switch to 5th because 4th is too low of an rpm output i might try the fuel filter later on today but the line has a colden tip at the end of it and the hole is leaking some oil its right beneath the oil tep sensors i believe
