Need A Favor From My FB Guys...

Hey Fellas,

Been working like crazy on the restoration project. I'm trying to find some of these little clips that hold in the wiper cowling panel, and haven't been able to locate any. If any of you guys have some extra ones lying around please let me know! I need 3 or 4 of them really bad! If anyone knows where I can buy them either, please let me know that too. Thanks guys, I know one of you will come through.

Later,
Jamie

They break all the time

They things almost always break when you try to remove the trim. The even break sometimes when installing the trim.

Go to an auto window install place. They will be able to order all the clips for the entire car for about $15Cdn. Victoria Bristish also stocks them for $8.95 US.

Standard Auto glass got me a kit. Don't know if you have them in the US.

Here's the part number, and its the same kit at Victoria British...

This is for an 84 - 85 Rx7

It made by Precision Replacement parts Corp. It says packaged in the USA.

Part # PCK-462-84

I'm not talking about the windshield clips, if that is what you guys are meaning. I believe there are four of these little pieces. They hold in the panel that goes under the windshield wiper arms. You will see four little tabs on the wiper cowling panel, near the base of the windshield. That is what these plastic clips are for. The four tabs on the wiper cowling panel, fit into these plastic pieces. It takes up some of the slack between the panel, and the spot they fit into. Hope this helps....

Sorry

I didn't look at your picture close enough. I've never seen these things before, and didn't know they were under there somewhere.

To increase your chances of finding somebody who knows what you mean, maybe you could post a pic of them actually on the car you can see them in place.

Just an idea..

Here is a picture of where I'm talking about. There are supposed to be four clips total. This should clear up any confusion of what I'm talking about. IF ANYONE HAS THESE DUMB LITTLE THINGS PLEASE HELP ME!!

Now I see

Now I see the ones you mean. I had to take that cover off as I lost a windsheild trim clip down there and I needed to fetch it back.

I don't have any, and I looked through the Victoria British catalogue with no luck, but here's some suggestions to at least try and help you out:

Look up the part number in the parts fiche (which I assume you have downloaded), and try the dealer. I have been able to order a lot more parts than I would have expected, right down to things like door lock *****, and the plastic over the instrument panel. You might have a pleasant surprise.

Junkyard. Yeah that's a no brainer, but if they are like around here, one guy has bought up all the junkyard RX's, so you may run into the same issue.

Try a friendly bodyshop - they may have access to parts that a person on the street doesn't.

Make a post in the For Sale/Want to Buy 1st Gen section. Make sure to include your picture as I've never seen these things asked for before. I would bet you'll find somebody who has a parts car (I don't) and will send them to you for the cost of shipping.

Wish I could help more. Best of luck.

Rob
