Need 15" wheels for my SE. Any suggestions or pics?

Open to ideas on new wheels for my stock silver SE. Any suggestions are appreciated. I'd like Konig Rewinds but they don't make them for the SE pattern. I also liked Konig GT-R in black centers but I can't find them any longer.

Ideas welcome...thx!

I'm a huge fan of some meshies. If you can find some meshies I say go with those. Meshies of any sort, that is.

They sell 4 lug to 5 lug adapters. I didn't like em at first, but they grew on me. Everyone thinks the car came with em stock. Hell, they even say 'Mazda'.

they do sell rewinds in a 4x114.3? Same bolt pattern as a AE86's, 240sx's and many other cars that are in the market for wheels like the rewind?

ae86's come in 4x110 i belive. but u've got the most common lug pattern for 4 lug, u have an infinte choice of wheels to buy. on the banners at the top of the page (if u get lucky) u can get on a website that sells lightweigh wheels in varieties of patterns, offsets n sizes. i wont tell u the site cause i wanna try n keep it a secret as much as i can because theyre are some amazing wheels, but maybe i'll give u the sites since ur on the other side of the states. pm me if u want more info.

That's a really nice helpful attitude. What do you suppose will happen the next time you start a thread asking for help? If I sent out Christmas cards, you would be off the list.

Fwiw, Google tells me the AE86 has the SE bolt pattern, not the 4X110.

directfreak, i thought you were running the respeed big brake kit in front and a ford 9" axle with the five lug pattern in the rear?

anyways, with the bolt pattern that's on the SE you shouldn't have any trouble finding a set of aftermarket wheels, just take a look around on any site that sells them (tirerack.com, 1010tires.com, thewheelconnection.com, etc.), it's fairly easy to find these websites with a search for "aftermarket wheels" on google.com.

Drift FB, yes, they do sell Rewinds in 15" 4x114.3, but the offset is 0. They also have a 40mm offset 15" wheel, but it's 4x100. So, we're kinda screwed.

I have heard that Konig would do a custom run if they can get an order for 30 sets. Do you think we could get enough energy around a group buy of rewinds for the SE pattern?

trochoid, I thought the base 86 model had the 4x114.3 pattern, and evrything else in the line was 5 lug.

MWM, I'll PM ya...

nothappyjack, there's a lot of wheels out there. I just asking for opinions from my fellow 1st Gen'ers on what looks good and fits correctly. I'm not looking for 17" bling, but a 15" wheel that accents the great looks of the car.

Alex, those AE looks great on the car.... but with all the HP that your car possesses, I figured you'd break adapters! I haven't really considered adapters since the SE pattern is pretty available... but maybe I should! Any recommendation on who sells a robust adapter?

They are not AE (assuming you meant anniversary edition) rims.
They are plain old Mazda 2nd Gen convertible rims. I got em for $200.

I run a CP Racing TII setup up front, and an Ford 8.8 out back.

I have 1" spacers up front, and 1.25" spacers rear.

The spacers bolt on to the spindle, and have their own studs. They are really beefy. I bought them on ebay. They are designed for '03 and '04 Mustang Cobras (Big HP+TQ), so I am pretty sure they can outlast my little engine that could.

So far, no problems.

Wow, I even found adapters for "regular" 12A cars to run 5 lug wheels.

+1 on the great attitude.

And you would be wrong, the AE86 Corollas come in 4x114.3, it would probably be much easier to find wheels if we had the same bolt patern as AE86's since almost every Japanese brand makes wheels for that car.

And as for the 0 offset, live a little, roll your fenders i you have to, I'm going to try it and I'll let you all know how it goes.

Finding 15" SE wheels is pretty damn tough. Not as bad as the standard FB, but since I last looked about 2 years ago, the pickings are very very slim... much less to choose from.

d0-Luck,
I believe the rims will not fit the SE. The bolt patern is correct BUT the offset is too low and will make the rims stick out the fender. If you could supply a pic of the rims mounted on an SE it might help with your sale. I personally like the looks of the rims BUT don't want rims that stick out past the fenders. If you could support the fact of the rims fitting on an SE then I would be very interested in the hypersilver colored set you have.
thanks

Yes it will fit the SE. I just sold gonzz here on the forum my staggered set of SSR Reverse Mesh. +3 fronts and +1 rears offsets. They rub a little, but that's because he is using 225/50 tires and the SSR were not even 8" wide. The rub was on the rear and was very minimal.

On the Sportmax, I highly recommend 195/50 combo so as to avoid rubbing issues. The Miata pictured has 195/50, negative camber, and coilovers. Some coilovers and negative camber definitely will help aid the rubbing issues.
But if you're too lazy to do suspension work, then just add some flares and you should be fine.

My suspension is already setup with RB springs (1 coil cut) and Tokico shocks. I don't want to add flairs as I personally don't like them. As you can see from Gonzz 1st gen , the fenders are flaired just a little and the wheels do actually stick out about 1/4 inch. I want my new wheels to be even with the fenders and have a lip as well. thanks for the response and pics. GL with the sale, those wheels are sweet and look awesome on that Miata.

I'm starting a new thread with my wheel options to date. I've decided to go without spacers or adapters for two reasons: 1. If it can possibly break it will happen to me, and 2. I'm cheap.

Quick Reply: Need 15" wheels for my SE. Any suggestions or pics?
