my winter ride...
well, i made the mistake of asking my brother (the one in the pics below) to weld on JUST my muffler on my winter truck (yeah its a piece of ****--i'm only 19 and that's all i could afford when i moved out of my house). anyways, the pics below explain what he did...
anyways, is there anyone else out there that has to drive a shitty vehicle cause it snows and don't want to put their 20+ year old car through hell?? post pics, can't be worse than mine.
if i can pass inspection with the exhaust like that, i'm gonna leave it cause it looks sooo stupid its cool.

I live in upstate New York. I'm searching for a winter rat as we speak. Will probably be a beat to **** mid to late 80's geo metro (or the ugliest smokiest POS I can find for 200-300 bucks). Nothing like the power of a 1.0l 3 cylinder boinger. So consider yourself lucky with that beast. I considered driving my 7 in the winter but it made me sad to think it would probably get ruined in a couple of winters. I have an '02 minivan that's already got rust spots.

i think i'm going to go get the beast inspected next week, from what i hear only farmers in this state can have stacks. oh well i think i can find a place that'll pass me
btw, anyone that pulled their carb, how long did it take you? i did mine in a record 1.5 hrs this morning in the cold, after i drove it around for 15 miles unliscenced/unregistered. hopefully i can remember where everything goes when it comes time in the spring, if not thats what manuals are for .

wow that is some beautiful masking tape.
anyone think of a ford festiva for a winter beater? I had one when I was in japan the winter season didn't get much snow but when it did it was about 9 inches. That little front wheeled drive biatch just pulled itself though everything I tried to get her stuck in. Then in the summer when your driving your 7 you can swap the engine from a turbo'ed mazda 323 into the festiva and really bring in the next winter season
here is the web site. http://sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0401scc_hybrid/
