My Track *****... well, shes not quite there yet

84' rx7 Gsl-SE. Toyota celica supra wheels with yoko a08-r's, camber caster plates, and soon to have a 13b out of some ITS 2nd gen that ended up never being finished . as for susp i only have tokico ilummina for fronts uninstalled. gonna go with blues on the rear. havent decided on springs or sways yet. i have yet to research proven setups. Car will be for auto-x/road race purposes, but more so for auto-x b/c events are closer to me.

i have yet to buy CP racing fender flares and to finish my aero headlights ( friend bought CP racing set and i copied them.) any suggestions for setup would be appreciated.

Should be fun. I would buy harnesses before heading to the track. They really hold you in better. Besides that head to the track and enjoy! You'll find that stickier tires will really make a difference.

hell yea. the yoko's will rock. i plan buying an used harness from someone at an auto-x or scca forums. i had a momo 4-point but ive grown out of my jdm ricer fantasies of youth. prolly will be looking for an auto-power or srr unit.

Crowe makes good harnesses at a good price. The A008r is a good tire to start with but a true DOT-R is faster.

thanks for the replies. i got those wheels and tires for $50 ( amzing buy) and i got the car for $250 both from someone who didnt know anything about what they had. ill look in to the crowe harness. for now ill be focusing on seat time, and whenever something break or goes out, i.e. brakes, clutch, tires. etc i will upgrade.

So it will probably be in CSP?

Looks fun.

You have some good events in your area. If you feel like driving up to Detroit or Toledo there are some great events over there. The Toledo express airport is the best site in the midwest hands down.

Also Gingerman and Grattan aren't too far from you. Track days are fun.

Edit:

Just realized all the cars in the background of the pics are rotary powered. Is that your shop? Looks cool.

I never realized those rims would fit a 1st gen.. Do they bolt up or did you change the pattern? They look good.

they bolt right up to your car as long as its a gsl-se. 4x114.3

we raced at Grissom aeroplex were they have the nationals during the summer. it was a no-pro (i think thats what you call it). mirror track. ill be going to putnam and irp for track days bu tgingerman i want to check out to. you should come down to auburm, in for the fort region meet. the day before banzairacing.net is having a bbq in piercton indiana at their shop. feel free to come back up to fort wayne with us. there is a heavy rotary following here. about 12 of us i see on a weekly basis. yea that WAS our shop. that was the white wide body, and another gsl-se, and a rx-3 in the background.

Yeah, I know a guy that was the the event at Grissom this past weekend. Aaron Miller in a black SM neon...very fast if he doesn't hit cones.

I haven't had a chance to get to Grissom myself. From what I have heard though the surface is no where near as good as at the Toledo site. Still I think it is probably a good site. I need to come down.

There a couple more track days a Gingerman this year yet. I am making out to the one that is hosted by the Alfa Club of Detroit. A very fun track.

I don't know if he is very public with everything on the car. Actually which car did he have there? Was it an N/A car with air intakes in a hole if the front of the hood or was it a turbo neon? Both are crazy fast.

it was the turbo one. its gotta be like a low 12 sec car. it was impressive on the track as well, or at least his driving was. i know how it is to have a high hp front drive car, and he handles the thing very, very well...
