Nice setup Doing close to the same thing myself...

But 2 questions?

1) Why put fuel pump in the car?
2) Why a 12A dist? Doesnt the Haltech control a stock CAS?

Thanks and nice car
MIKE

i put the pump in the car cuz i think its more safe there than under the car.....its kinda annoying hearing that pump when u're driving( loud), but the car was build for the street, not a everyday driver (no radio & no A/C).....i used a Haltech F9A fuel only system, its doesn't control my ignition so i had to use the 12a turbo dissy.......its not ur regular 12a dissy, its from a j-spec 12a-turbo so it has a factory boost retart mechanism......so my ignition retards autometically when the dissy see's boost via 2 vaccum lines, its also running direct fire....

rotaryboyz the car internals looks good...take off the chrome fender trim and get a nice paint job and your car would look awesome. I love the braided fuel line how it stick on the back ...looks mean as hell.

I don't know it's something that I think...about chrome accesories and speed that don't mix too well. But congrats your project is coming along great.

well the fender trim been gone months now ( old pics).....that car was one of the 1st t2 conversion out here,i started it in late '98.....u guys that are doing the conversion now are lucky u have this fourm to ask questions, cuz when i first started i had no one in the US that'll give me advice/help.....every rotary shop i called for help said "y dont u just buy a 2nd gen,its easier" even mazdatrix told me that....i learn most of the stuff through "trial & error", i also got some help from my friends in OZ.....the car need some body/paint work now, but i might sell it before that happens.....i'll hate to get rid of it ( my baby),but i guess buying a house is a little more important.....the car at this point has about $10K invested, i know i cant get that back but thats the consequence every car nut has to face about his project......when bought in early '98, it had a old, smoky 12a & it took me a few mths to deside on what to do with it.....after i decided on the t2 swap i removed the 12a,radiator,oil cooler, brake booster & master cylinder, fuel lines, complete A/C system, radio & speakers, all a/c & heater controls and all unneccessary wiring and literally threw it in the garbage.....all that was done in favor of building a bad a$$ street car with no expenses spared....every factory piece was replace with 100% new mazda parts (my boy works at mazda...hehehe) and the other stuff was sourced from summit & jegs or custom made..... for u guys doing this project, good luck

Why do you still have the pulsation dampener and stock FPR?

Sounds like backwards thinking to me? I'd rather have fuel leaking on the ground instead of squirting the back of my seat. Why do you think it's safer inside the car?

i have a aeromotive FPR to install, but i'm waiting on my 3rd gen upper intake to arrive.....when the intake gets here i'll be running a new fuel rail w/ 1600's & i'll install the FPR along with my new cell......i put the pump inside the car cuz it works by gravity fed, so that means the pump has to be lower than the fuel tank sump (pick-up)...with the pump inside the storage bin area, its almost the same level as the sump,so the pump has less strain to operate......i'll soon be removing the tank & replacing it with a fuel cell that'll be mounted inside the car.....i have no new pics of the car, but as soon as i get the 3rd gen intake manifold all polished with the new IC piping i'll update my page....i think the pump is safer in the car than outside,b'cuz the roads of NYC are so $hitty something might hit it under the car, also there aint alot of room under a 1st gen chassis to mount this huge pump & #10 lines.....i have a 97 mustang 8.8 rear that i'm working on, hopefully it'll be done before the summer is over......it'll have 31 spline superior axles, eaton posi diff,4:11 gears,5-lug x-drilled rotors.....the rear will be shortened 1.5" on each side to fit like a stock mazda rear & it'll be running a custom HAL coilover setup.....the motor will be the last big mod that i'm gonna do, cuz it dont make sense i build a 500+hp motor & i cant get the power down without breaking something......after a new tranny,8.8 rear, aluminum driveshaft ,body/paint is finish then i'll do a ported motor, mabe even a 20b.....next weekend i'll take the car to the street races in the bronx to chill, maybe u NYC rx7 guys could come by to show those honda boyz how we do it....
