Is my starter going out?

My cars been sitting for a while because I've been saving for a new clutch and flywheel and when I replaced the dead battery that I forgot to disconnect my car didn't want to turn over. When I turn the key it just makes a clicking noise. If it is my starter does anyone know where I can get one cheap?

mine was doing the same thing, check your battery cable first, if it's not that you can have the starter tested at auto zone. good luck

also, the way i tested my battery cable was; take a jumper cable and hook one end up to the positive terminal on the battery and the other end to the terminal on the starter solenoid that the battery cable is hooked up to, now turn the key, if it cranks than you just need anew battery cable. good luck
