i took a dremel wire wheel to mine, they were really scary, but polishing was more work than i truly wanted to put into it

I wonder how chrome plating would do in the heat... Pop your hood and show off your rotary bling.

An added bonus is a correction to flaking.

I'm not going to paint (or polish) the rotor housings on my new motor. Just clean them up real nice. I will paint the iron housings black though.

i wire wheeled em up, maybe took an hour, then i painted em, 2 coats now, gonna clean em, cause that "chrome" spray paint likes to get nasty from just touching it... just waiting for em to dry completely right now... since its so cool around here the paint doesn't dry very fast, so since they r tacky now and won't catch dirt i got a little portable heater blowing warm air on em

It never dries completely. My IC pipes have a nice satin look to them now a year later, but your hands will still turn silver if you rub the pipes.....

I painted the rotor housings of my '73 12A with aluminum colored engine paint. The irons are black. The irons needed paint because Mazda didn't nitride back then, so I figured I'd paint the rotor housings too. The aluminum color looks a little lighter than chrome colored paint.
